How do I put ZuluFox on my home screen?
iPhone or iPad: open zulufox.app in Safari, tap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen.
Android: open it in Chrome, tap the ⋮ menu, then Install app or Add to Home screen.
It then opens full screen like any other app, and works with no signal.
Do I need an account?
No. There’s nothing to sign up for. Open it and fly. The only time you’ll type an email is if you buy Pro and later want to restore it.
Does it work offline?
Yes. After your first visit, the whole app is saved on your phone. Entering times, totals, the Logbook and the tools all work in the air with no signal. Updates download quietly the next time you’re online.
Local time or UTC?
Pick the one your logbook uses. You choose when you first open the app, and can change it in Settings on a day with no times yet. If you cross time zones, UTC keeps your legs in order.
What languages does it speak?
English, French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Hindi, Japanese, Korean and Chinese. Tap the language button at the top of the app.
Entering times
How do I log a leg?
Fly first and jot your times on your kneeboard. Once you’re parked, open the Times tab and type Ramp Out, Takeoff, Landing and Ramp In as four digits each, like 0942. It jumps to the next box for you, and air time and flight time appear as soon as they can be worked out.
Can I log times as they happen?
No, on purpose. ZuluFox is for the ground: the planning room, the crew room or the ramp after shutdown. Never use it while taxiing or flying. Your panel clock and a kneeboard are the safest way to catch the times.
Can I log a flight from yesterday or earlier?
Yes. On the Times tab, tap the date under the clock and pick the day. Type the times as usual, then tap Add leg to that day, or Back to today. Free covers this week and last week; Pro covers any day.
How are air time and flight time worked out?
Air time is Takeoff to Landing. Flight time is Ramp Out to Ramp In. Both show in tenths of an hour, rounded to the nearest tenth, and in hours and minutes underneath.
Pro lets you round up, round down or use your own step if your operator asks for it.
How do I fix a wrong time?
On the Today tab, tap Edit on the leg and change the time. Deleted or cleared something by mistake? Tap Undo in the bar that shows for 10 seconds.
Can I log landings?
Yes. Open Details under a leg and use the Day and Night landing counters. They’re included in your exports.
What happens at midnight?
A new day starts at local midnight. A leg that’s still open at midnight stays on the day it started, so a late flight isn’t split in two. Your next leg starts the new day.
Logbook and export
Where do past days go?
Into the Logbook tab. Swipe the week strip or open the calendar to find a day, then tap it to see each leg. Free shows this week and last week. Pro keeps every past day, with month totals.
How do I get my times into my logbook app?
Tap Export in the Logbook. You can copy a summary to paste anywhere, or, with Pro, download a CSV made for:
- ForeFlight
- MyFlightbook
- LogTen, Excel and others (a plain CSV you can match columns on)
Check your first import against your records.
Is ZuluFox an official logbook?
No. ZuluFox works out your times, but it isn’t a legal logbook. Check the times and copy them into your official logbook.
Pro and restore
What does Pro cost?
$9.99 once. No subscription, no renewals. It unlocks unlimited legs, CSV export, the full Logbook, the day card and PDF, rounding options and night mode.
How do I buy Pro?
In the app, go to Settings and tap Get Pro. Checkout is handled by Lemon Squeezy. Your receipt shows your licence key: paste it into the app to turn Pro on. Keep the receipt email, it’s how you restore Pro later.
How do I restore Pro on a new phone?
- Find your licence key. It’s in your Lemon Squeezy receipt email. Can’t find the email? Look up your order with the email you bought with.
- In ZuluFox, go to Settings and tap Restore purchase.
- Paste the key and tap Restore Pro.
Pro works on up to 2 of your devices. Already using both? On the old one, open Settings and tap Remove Pro from this device. That frees a spot right away.
I lost my old phone and both spots are taken.
Email hello@zulufox.ca with your receipt and we’ll free a spot.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, within 14 days of buying. Email us with your receipt and we’ll sort it out.
Your data
Where are my times saved?
Only on your phone, in the app’s own storage. We never receive them. That’s why there’s no account to sign in to.
Will I lose my times if I get a new phone?
Your times stay on the old phone. Before you switch, export your Logbook or copy it into your logbook app. Restoring Pro brings back Pro, not your times.
What could delete my times?
Clearing your browser’s website data, deleting the home-screen app on some phones, or using a private browsing window. Export now and then, and keep your official logbook up to date.
